Keynote Presentation Overview

Community-Centric Fundraising:
The Intersection of Development and Access, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

In this sociopolitical climate, nonprofits and fundraising professionals play an ever important role. As our society grows in diversity, our sector has been talking increasingly about Access, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. What does that look like in the development field? Beyond how we can diversify our base of donors, we must consider how we address difficult topics like wealth disparity, taxes, the nonprofit hunger games, savior complex, poverty tourism, and our roles as fundraisers in a changing world. How do we talk to our donors about race or equity? Should we? Get ready for a thought-provoking, possibly existentially challenging presentation filled with pictures of baby animals.

Hear from incredible speakers as you learn more about relevant fundraising topics. The Development Day Chicago 2019 focuses on the following four areas:

LIFECYCLE OF A DONOR (Sponsored by iWave)

Donor lifecycle management strategies can help you develop and retain donors and increase your fundraising success. Effectively managing donor expectations at each step of the giving process is important for inspiring loyalty and instilling trust in your donors. So what does your donors’ lifecycle look like? And more importantly, are your strategies positioning you for donor growth over the duration of that lifecycle?

DATA DOWNLOAD (Sponsored by GiveSmart by Community Brands)
Savvy fundraisers understand that achieving their goals means utilizing all of the resources at their disposal. On September 20, take a deep dive into data-driven strategies, best practices, and expert advice to enhance annual giving, improve donor segmentation, and build a strong community through year-long donor engagement. Add new tools to your fundraising toolbox by attending one or all of the sessions offered in the DATA DOWNLOAD track.

COURSE CORRECTIONS
(Sponsored by Auction & Event Solutions)

If you want to achieve dramatic impact in fundraising, you need to know where you’re going, how to get there, and you need to know if and when to change direction or find better routes along the way. In today's ever-changing philanthropic landscape, learn to make course corrections and chart new paths to success. This track explores the importance of modifying your course and shifting strategies on the fly to be a more effective fundraiser.
