Congrats Channing Lenert, MS, CFRE Named AFP Outstanding Young Professional at AFP ICON 2019

Channing was recognized on Tuesday, April 2nd during the Closing General Session in San Antonio. Channing was recently named program officer for Polk Bros. Foundation in Chicago, IL.  The Outstanding Young Professionals award recognizes fundraisers under the age of 31 who have already shown exemplary work in raising funds, inspiring donors, helping manage campaigns and giving back to the profession. Welcome Peer Mentoring Spring Class 

AFP Chicago's Peer Mentoring Committee had the pleasure of matching 16 protégés with their own mentor who will help them build their professional networks and develop their skills and knowledge. The Spring Class protégés and mentors met in person at a kickoff meeting held on Friday March 29th. Participants came from all sectors of the nonprofit community including: health care; children and family services; arts and culture; advocacy; science; museums; foundations; education; and consulting. We are pleased to present the protégés and mentors for the Spring 2019 class.


AFP Chicago Earned Ten Star Honor!

We're proud to announce that we've been named a 2019 Ten Star Chapter, an annual award made to AFP chapters that have had a significant impact on the fundraising profession. Just one-third of all AFP chapters are named Ten Star Chapters. The Ten Star chapters were recognized at the AFP International Conference on Fundraising (ICON) held this past week in San Antonio, TX. Congrats to all the honorees! 


AFP Chicago Received the 2019 Friends of Diversity Designation

Congratulations to the 90 chapters who received the 2019 Friends of Diversity Designation. The Friends of Diversity Designation recognizes those chapters who have accomplished many of the key objectives in our goal of advancing diversity. Chapters were recognized for this Designation during the Chapter Presidents Council meeting at AFP ICON in San Antonio, TX on March 30th.


Congrats to Our Chapter Members on Becoming CFREs 

Join us in congratulating the 231 fundraising professionals that became Certified Fund Raising Executives (CFREs) in the January 15 - March 15, 2019, testing window! This marks one of the largest classes of new CFREs during any Q1 testing window to date.. We are so proud of our AFP Chicago members who have earned their CFRE this quarter: Amy Kahn and Madelyn Weed.
